A to the N-N to the IVERSARY # 5!!

You read right! Last Friday marked our 5th anniversary. It's amazing how time flies. It was my turn this year to plan so we celebrated a week early. Earlier in the week I had asked Andy if we could go out to dinner on Saturday. He was game and didn't suspect anything since it was a week before the big day. He also mentioned that maybe we could go to a movie. I talked him in to going to dinner early. We went to Sizzler at about 5:30 pm. The "movie" that we were going to didn't start until 7. He thought we should kill some time so we headed to Home Depot. What's a romantic weekend without going to the Depot? While we were walking around, I was trying to get him to leave, but also trying to play it cool so he wouldn't think anything was up. When we finally left, I took the driver's seat and told him I needed to go to Lee's. I was going to go in and rent a movie, but there was a long line at the red box. When I got back in the car, I told Andy that he couldn't ask any questions and he had to close his eyes. He got an excited look on his face and said, "This is so unlike you." He played along and didn't cheat, or so he says. We ended up at the Anniversary Inn, or the AI as I like to call it, in a room called Rich's Drive In. It was awesome! It's one of their new rooms and it has it's own theatre in it with an old truck so it's like a drive-in movie. My mom was nice enough to watch Alli for us and we had a great time.

The room came complete with popcorn, candy, soda fountain and hot dog. I have to admit, the hot dogs were the main selling point of the room. A girl needs her hot dog!

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end but we definitely had a great time. And yes that is Sport's Center playing on the T.V. in the back ground.
Confession: when I read other people's blogs about how their husbands are the best, I'm secretly thinking, "Yeah right, mine totally takes the cake." Hate to offend somebody but that's how it goes.
Here are a few reasons why I have the BHITW:
He always has a level head
He keeps me calm and living in reality
He is the best daddy ever
He is ambitious and not afraid of hard work
He is good with numbers and budgeting
He is very smart but not nerdy, ok, the glasses are kind of nerdy, but what can you do?
We love to do the same things
We have a blast together
He is a very thoughtful gift giver. He puts a lot of thought into his gifts and they really mean something.
He is building me a beautiful new home and isn't overwhelmed with working a full time job and spending nights and weekends on the house.
I love you Andy and your accident prone self! Happy Anniversary!!
Quick trip down memory lane

My 16th birthday and my first date. We went to dinner at the Copper Mill and Andy had a dozen red roses delivered to our table while we were eating.

Homecoming dance Andy's Sr. year, my Jr. year.
Shortly after we were engaged.
Engagement photo. I'm sure ours kids will laugh their butts off at these pictures in 30 years.
A few hours before Alli was born. Notice how well rested Andy is after his 3 naps that day. (BTW, Alli was born the same day the last Harry Potter came out. My mom was nice enough to bring us a copy.)

Tag

I got tagged by Tami a while ago but didn't notice. It's hard to keep up with her blog when she posts about 5 new things a day. JK Tam! Since I don't have time to post something with pictures, this is what you get!

Rules: Write 6 random things about yourself, link the person who tagged you & post the rules. Tag six people.

1. I was once a rollerblade junky. I had a season pass to Classic Skating (for those of you from Cache Valley, that's a rollerskating rink that also has waterslides.) I would go every day after school. I didn't have any friends that loved it as much as I did so I would go by myself. I would also go out for hours during the summer and go up Provo Canyon. Since I am the third child in my family, my mom wasn't too concerned with all my absent hours from home.

2. I always wanted to be an Emcee. I wanted to make sick (slang for freakin' awesome) hip hop remixes.

3. I love Britney, always have, always will. Say what you want, I don't care.

4. I used to be a mega tomboy. I have "girled" out in my older years.

5. I could live in sweats and old t-shirts if society would allow.

6. I asked Andy for a suggestion for that last one and this is what he said.
You give excellent foot massages
You spell very well
You have really thick hair
You hate watching college basketball (He is wrong here. College basketball is my favorite sport to watch. I just hate watching every second of every game that is on t.v. which he insists on doing.)
You eat a lot of ice cream
You expect your husband to be a mind reader
He said a few other things, but I will spare the details.

There you have it!!

18 months?!

Our baby turned 18 months old yesterday. I am definitely in denial of this fact. I am still sitting here in confusion as to what happened to my sweet little baby.

Here are some fun facts about this active little toddler.

She LOVES to watch the Mickey Mouse Club House.

She is finally getting some hair.

She loves the water and is pretty much fearless.

She loves her best buddy, Daddy.

She loves to help Grandma with all of her projects.

And like a true girl, loves to shop!
She also loves books, animals, cousins and all of her friends at Day Care. She says gobs of words and does pretty much any animal sound. She is also obsessed with tractors and "wotion." (Tractor was one of her first words.) She can also count to ten and sing several songs. (She started making up her own words to the Apple, Apple, A A A song.) She enjoys dancing and helping out around the house. She keeps us laughing and constantly reminds us that she is the boss. The other day, she lifted up my shirt and asked, "Poopie, poopie?" I guess since I check her bum all the time, she thought she should check mine.
We love you Alli and your sweet spirit. We are so lucky that you found your way into our lives. We are so excited for the up and coming adventures we will share.
Love, Mom and Dad

Tagged!!

Me, blogging, what? I've been tagged a couple of times lately. I chose this one because the other tag had 8 things that I was supposed to come up with. I always take the easy way out.

7 Things I Can Do Well

Alli's Blessing Day

Sept. 2, 2007

A little late

I know I need to do better at posting things on my blog. This post is a little late and I wasn't sure that I would be able to post it, but here goes.

Dear Kim,

October 29 was the 1 year mark of your passing. I have wanted to write you this letter since the day we found out you had cancer. But like the others, I thought I had more time. Since this time last year, I have done a lot of reflecting on the memories I have, the things I didn't get to say, and the memories we were unable to share. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for always making me feel welcome in your family. Even though you probably didn't agree with the choices I had made, you always respected and loved me. Thank you for your dry sense of humor and for always making me laugh. Thank you for the many nights that Andy and I came over just to chat. We would sit in your living room and you and Andy would talk about the most random things. Sports, work, school, whatever. I remember I would always be on the verge of crying from boredom because you always knew so much about any subject and could go on and on and on!! I am grateful for those times because I know Andy cherishes those moments. Thank you for your never ending generosity, your ability to give amazing presents and your patience. Thank you for raising a son who is so likeable, never gets angry (although he is very stubborn,) who honors his priesthood, who is not afraid to take on any task, who supports his family, and has your striking good looks! Thank you for sending Alli flowers when she was born and for standing in the circle when she was blessed. Thank you for watching over her now and for taking care of our future children. I know that you are working hard on whichever task you have been chosen for. Your legacy lives on through the amazing family you helped create. I am proud to say that you are my father-in-law. You are loved and missed!!
Love,
Mallory

P.S. Please don't teach my kids how to swear.

Halloween 08

Since Mallory won't ever post stuff, I'll take the liberty. (Grandma Workman here.) Alli was the CUTEST Lion that ever walked the earth! She loved wearing her costume. She had NO CLUE about trick-or-treating, but had fun being outside with her cousins. She walked the OPPOSITE direction of anywhere we went. She struggled to take only 1 piece of candy. Finally, instead of taking a handful with the right hand, she would slowly take one piece, then hurry and shove her other hand in the bowl for more. Seriously!!! She is way to young to know how to work the system!Going "boneless" at the ward Carnival.
