Fractures, First-days and Fatigue

Fractures:

Almost 5 weeks ago, we found out Jane had broken her left arm.  She fell on it hard enough to fracture the radius bone.  It was a small fracture.  You couldn't even see it on the x-ray, just where the bone was buckled around it.  I'm not sure when the initial injury happened.  We went a whole weekend before I finally took her in on a Monday to get it checked out.  She kept crying and holding her arm.  I held her arm and slowly moved it around and she didn't scream and pull it away so I assumed it was nothing serious.  The poor girl had to suffer for 2 1/2 days because of her neglectful mother.  She wore it for almost 3 1/2 weeks.  Here is the wonderful day that she finally got it off.

Just before the appointment.
                                                                 Waiting for "The Machine"

I warned Alli it would be loud.

                                                                  Slightly traumatizing.
Freedom! (In Scottish accent.)

She was so funny with this cast.  It didn't seem to bother her at all except right after she got it on.  She held her arm up to me and said, "Stuck, stuck."  Alli was telling all of the neighbor kids that Jane broke her arm.  She came in from playing with the neighbor boy and asked, "What's that thing on Jane's arm called again?"  I answered, "A cast."  Alli, "Oh yeah, I told Chase it was a scab."
All I can say is thank goodness it's off.  Luckily it was water proof and we could bathe without any problems.  However, that does not mean that her arm didn't stink when the cast came off.

First-days:

Alli started Preschool this week.  This is her second year and she was so excited to go.  She goes to our neighbor who runs Summit Preschool.  She goes two days a week for 2 hrs.

My girls love having their picture taken.  Notice little sister trying to sneak in.

Alright Jane, we'll take one of your cute face too.

Fatigue:

This last word definitely applies to me right now.  We are having another baby in March.  We are totally excited!!  I'm not as nauseous with this one as the other two.  For sure more tired though.  Alli asks about every other day when the baby is coming.  She will be a fantastic helper.  Jane will probably be pretty jealous but we'll have to deal with that when the time comes.  I'm not going to speculate what we're having.  I was wrong with the first two but maybe it was just because I never wanted any girls when I was growing up.  Now I wouldn't have it any other way.  Bring on the drama!!

Kelsey broke her arm (3 times!), the first time I waited the weekend and all she did was hold her arm also. When I finally took her in we found that she needed surgery so don't feel too bad.

Congrats on the baby! Braxton broke his arm one summer in three places. It was no fun! We got a waterproof cast and it was awesome! His was on for three months.... There are different types of waterproof insides. He had a gortex kind and it looked more like a plastic mesh than cotton. He never had a problem with it itching or smelling. I don't know why not everyone uses that kind!!!
